Fall 2010, Thanksgiving, and Holiday Cheer!

We'll sorry I haven't updated lately, but life has been very hectic to say the least!

Fall has been good to us. We have made it through the season without any major illnesses or flare ups! Max had tubes put in at the beginning of the month (November) and things have been going great since. He hasn't had any ear infections or colds, so thank the lord! His winy temper-ment has disappeared too, as well :)

Halloween was fantastic! He was a tiger and he had a lot of fun handing out candy to the little kids in the neighborhood at my moms house. We didn't do the trick or treat thing this year, since the last thing he needs to eat is candy. We went to Kaplan's trick or treat and that was good enough for the both of us :)

 He is growing up so much everyday. The other day I looked at him and cried. It just seems like yesterday he was a baby and laying on the floor, unable to move....ohhhhh the days :) Actually, I am liking his stage now. He is curious, and inquisitive. I like seeing his face when he discovers new things. He never ceases to amaze me!

For thanksgiving, we celebrated at my moms house. Max came down with the flu bug Wednesday night, but acted fine on Thursday. He didn't eat a whole lot but had a good time otherwise. He definitely loved spending the day with his grandpa Clarence and grandma's. The boy does the happy dance everytime my grandpa comes around him. He adores him and grandpa adores Max....it's so neat.

We leave for South Padre on christmas, so we are trying to get things finished up as far as christmas shopping so we can start saving $$$!~ I did a few black friday deals, but mostly have looked for bargins before hand......

I am 90% done shopping!

Well I have to finish baking my cookies that I whipped up!

Hawkeyes Prevail, Big Brother, & Other Stuff!!!

Well, its the day after Iowa's Cy-Hawk show down, and the Hawkeyes prevail :) Goooo Hawkeyes!!!!

This is Max on game day! He loves wearing his jersey and Hawkeye tatto :)

We had an awesome day. We spent the day with my grandma and mom. Max had a bad ear ache so we did take him to get antibiotics for his ear. He was a bear all day, but beside that, we had a great day.... The hawks won 35-7....Go Hawks :) 2-0!!!

Big Brother finale this week....it is a sentimental feeling, because that means summer is over and the cold weather is here. I am ready for Halloween so I can see Max dressed up as a tiger, but besides that.... I just want to soak up summertime and great sleeping weather....

With Max being sick last night, I didnt have a chance to go out and hang out with my friends... I felt bad that I missed Charli's birthday, but my baby was sick and he needed his mommy. Today, thank god, he was feeling much better. I am ready to have my happy baby back :)

We'll tonight is the first Sunday Night Football in America game so I am going to sign off and watch the game.... favorite part is soon to come... come on Faith Hill :)

Tomorrow is the Day!

Tomorrow is so the day! 14 hours and 6 minutes from this moment will be the official kickoff to the Iowa Hawkeyes football season! I have waited SOO long for this day to come! Max has his Hawkeyes jersey ready to go! #12 whoot whoot! We are actually going to go get our pictures taken together! Can't wait to get him dressed up for the game tomorrow! He was dressed up accordingly last year, but only in onesies because they didn't make shirts smaller than a 2T... now we have surpassed that issue!

Can't wait to dress my lil' guy up! :)

School so far is going good. I am halfway done with my third term. This term has proven to be the most challenging for me. I have A&P 2, M.O.M. and Medical Law & Bioethics. Its the A&P 2 thats killing me.  The teacher is a good teacher, but apparently I dont know how to study properly. I study and study and do you think it helps? NO! I am so stressed out. I am going to enjoy this 3 day weekend and than hit the wind and grind. I start clinicals next term. God be with me and my partner who I have to learn to poke! Dear God, Dear God!

We'll I had so much to write, but distracted with laundry and other house work...gotta love being a mommy and a homemaker.... I wouldnt change my life for anything.

Almost 1, Crazyness and Break!

Max will be one years in less than 3 weeks!!! Hard to believe. We had his 1 year old pictures taken tonight! :) I have never seen any cuter pictures than his pictures tonight. Target in Ankeny did awesome! I spent alot of money on pictures! Hope everyone likes them! We have such big plans for his birthday, I can't wait!

Finals were last week and thank god there over for another 10 weeks :) I ace'd all my classes and I am excited! I made the deans list again !!!! WHOOO HOOOOO!!! That's all that I am worried about! Worried about proving my sister wrong and that I can go to college at 26 and be successful. HA! BOO YAH!

With finals being over, that means its break time for 2 weeks. The new term starts the 29th for me and I am hoping this break goes slow. I need to reload and refresh before next term. I have A&P 2 which will be the death of me I'm sure! BuT NO MORE MATH! WHOOOO!!! I feel I have some somewhat easy courses this next term. Let's see in 10 weeks :)

4th of July and a Much Needed Break!

Wow! This year has gone fast! This weekend is the 4th of July and it's so hard to believe its here already! I am excited to be celebrating it with Max, and my dad & step-mom. Max & I are heading to Omaha, on Saturday. I am so excited! It will be a great get away from school and work. Finals are coming up so I will be stressing here soon! 2 weeks from today, I will be done with finals and on a 2 weeks break! Whoot whoot! Not sure what I'm going to do with my break yet, but I'm super stoked!

Max started walking on Tuesday. I saw him out of the corner of my eye take a step and I thought I was crazy. Yesterday, while at my grandparents, he took 5 steps and then today, I caught him walking across the room out of the corner of my eye. I said yayyyy Max and he clapped and then fell and that was the end of that walking stint. :) He is so big. I mailed out his birthday invites this week and I am so excited and can't wait! Well I can, but I can't.

Got to spend some time with grandma and grandpa today. Grandma is slowly but surely getting better and its a process that will take time.

I am so watching the news and they are covering the floods of 2010. You would think they would learn from the past and build a fortress around the river and the city :) I went downtown today with the grandparents and we stopped to take pictures and there are so many pictures that can't even describe whats happening to the river.

We'll I am off to bed. Max is in the parade tomorrow morning! Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July weekend!

'Naters, Rude People, & Max

Wow, this weather has been horrific! If it doesn't stop raining, were going to need to build an arc....Gah! I am ready for it to be nice again...I am loving the heat though cause its awesome to be able to take Max to the pool and swim.... oh and having a car that has A/C and not being preggers :) Last summer waas hottttt!
Let's pray for warmer and sunny weather!

Rude people annoy me! I don't understand why people do the things they do sometimes...honestly! I set a timer each time I do our laundry and I set it for 35 mins. The washer takes 33 and the dryer 55 normally... I go to get my clothes out of the washer and dryer and my clothes are on the floor and somebody had JUST put there clothes in the washer and dryer! I was LIVID! So I ignored it, waited an hour or two and went back in there and it was empty so I finished my laundry. Come back and my clothes are ONCE again on the washer! SO, being the hot headed person I am, opened the dryer and left it open and opened the washer...they dont work unless the doors are closed! HA. Instead of knocking on every person's door on this floor, I just left it at that.... they must have heard me cussing them because they went right back in and restarted the dryer... not sure what good it did, but it made me feel satisfied... I will say that :)

I kept Max home today, to spend time with the squirt. We had a pretty good day! He takes awesome naps since he has been in daycare... which was nice for this mama! :) I was exhausted.... Got the laundry done and got the apartment cleaned. YAY! Then he woke up and ripped all his toys back out :) The joys of having a kid I guess :) He is growing up so fast, he is ready to walk anytime, I just hope he doesn't walk for the first time, while I'm in Omaha this weekend..... UGH! I would cry! I love watching him grow so much every single day.... just miss the cuddling!

My sister & I are heading to Omaha tomorrow! YAY! Roadtrip! Were going to spend fathers day with our dad.... Should be a good time. My mom is keeping Max so I can have a little get away :) Thank you mama! I appreciate it!

...Summer is finally here....YAY!

....WOW! Its June 9th! In 6 days this year will be half way over! AHHH!

Well with summer, comes the swimming pools :) Max loves the water. He has his own baby pool and everything....Amanda and I ventured to the pool today and laid out...got a little sun but more tired than anything...the sun zaps me out....wonder why! HA. It's good having her home....gives me something to do when I am bored and she gets bored too!

Max turned 10 months old yesterday....bittersweet! He is growing up way to fast. I also found out yesterday that he is moving up to the next room at daycare...He is advancing 2 months early and I was caught off guard. He is ready but just so sad......... He is still my baby, whether he is in the nursery or not....He also isn't on formula anymore so that helps things out too......

We'll I have math homework so I have to be getting back to that....have a good one!

Max, Survey of Math, Friends, Etc.....

We'll I never cease to be amazed with my son! He is walking on furniture and so ready to take off and start walking....scares me, but its all part of growing up...he is growing up WAY to fast for this mama! Just a year ago, I was preggers and ready for it to be over with and now I'm wanting him to be a newborn again! However, I wouldnt change it again for the world! I LOVE HIM more than ANYTHING in this world. Tonight during bath time, he learnt to put his balls in the basketball hoop hanging in the tub. He laughed so hard when he did it, I was laughing at him. He has the cutest giggles! LOVE IT!

This term I am taking Composition 1, Anatomy and Physiology, & Survey of Mathematics! Composition is okay! Teacher is good, nice, helpful & friendly....Hopefully will be an easy class.... A&P is going to be a challenge but I can do it! NOW on to Math....teacher is nice and helpful, HOWEVER this class is the death of me!!! I have an awesome tutor, named Shara....she is awesome!!! Yesterday she helped me so much!!!! I took the quiz today and we'll see what happens :)

I am glad I made the decision to go back to school in February. I have made some kick ass friends! I feel so lucky to have met them! :) Hopefully some of these friends will be life long friends.....

I am so glad that the long weekend is finally here! Friday & Saturday, I'm off. Saturday were going to a cook out at Max's Grandma Cindy's house and then it Cyndy's Bachelorette Party! HELL YA! I can't wait to party with my friends from elementary and high school again! Sunday & Monday I have to work a few hours in the morning and than its relaxation on from there.....I am excited that the weather is supposed to be nice and the Altoona pool opens on Saturday! Me and Max will be spending ALOT of time there this year! :) WHOOT WHOOT!


Wow, how old am I, if I am tired by 8:43 pm.... BLAH!

Can You Say I Told You So?!

So a week ago, the paternity results came back for Max, and let's just say, I TOLD YOU SO! I wont go into details, but it makes me wanna laugh because people are stupid and need to realize the truth. I think there finally opening there eyes to discover the truth.

Speaking of I Told You So.... I am so going to see Carrie Underwood. My tickets came in the mail. Casey, KP, Jesse & I are going to see her on December 4th. I can't wait! I am a HUGE fan :) It will be a fun fun night.

I am trying to figure out what shows to record on my new DVR's. I got the one where you can record in 2 different rooms and view them on any tv.... LOVE IT! :) I always run out of room to record stuff during the fall season. Now I will have whatever I wanna watch :)

We'll I have to go get ready for dinner w/ Jesi & the finale of Grey's Anatomy......have a good night!

School, Graduation, & a Sick Baby....

Well Well Well! Here we are... Tuesday night and I am excited for a much calmer day tomorrow. School started back on Thursday. What a day I tell ya! Math is not my strong suit and I am not so sure about this teachers teaching style. He hands out the packet and we have to self learn. I am going to check into switching to a different class if possible. All my friends are in the class I am currently in so that makes for a hard decision, but I am not there to make friends, I am there to learn. Right?!

Amanda graduated from Iowa on Saturday. The ceremony was no where near as bad as I thought it would be. We got great parking, and great seats. Max did exceptionally well for a 9 month old baby. He is such a good baby. I am so lucky! Tom Brokaw was a great speaker. Gave me motivation to keep going in my studies, no matter how hard I struggle. I am struggling after Math & A&P this last week. Its going to be a rough term but I CAN DO IT! Thats how I'm going to make it, is positive self reinforcement. The motel we stayed in, in Coralville, was the "no tell, Motel". It was the Motel 6 and it was awful. It was dirty, small and stunk. We were definately excited to check out. Had we been filthy rich and could afford $280 a night for a single bed room at the Holiday Inn, I woulda done it. Instead I paid $89 for a stinky room with filthy bed spreads...go figure....soooo glad to be back home.

Max had to go back to the pulminologist yesterday. They are pretty sure he has asthma. I know, right?! He was a bear the past few days and  I really dont know what else I can do for him. He is on steroids every other day and than nebulizer treatments when needed. I dont know what I'm going to do if his dad ever has anything to do with him because he is an avid smoker and Max can't be around that or anyone who has been around smoke.... *sigh*. We go back in a month to see how he is doing and see how his breathing/wheezing is doing.

Last Thursday during math class, my eye started hurting and acting up. I took my contacts out and when I woke up on Friday it was pink and swollen. I went to the doctor and I had "bacterial" conjunctivitis. Apparently its in the air! So I was on eye drops all weekend for that. I looked super emotional even though I wasn't.....oh well :) Today was the first day, I have had no issues at all with it. thankfully its starting to look better to!

We'll I better get going, because I have homework and medical club stuff to do. Being VP of the Medical Assistant Club, was a little more than I anticipated, but oh well, what do you do!?

9 months, and where has it gone?!

WOW! Max is now 9 months old. He is pulling himself up on things, pretty soon he is going to take off. EEKS! I love him SOO much that I can't even begin to tell you. He has made my life so fulfilled and perfect. Well nothing is perfect, but its pretty dang close :) I am so amazed at how much he has come along in 9 months. In less than 3 months,  he will be one year old...scary! I will be a mama to a 1 year old... wow I feel old. HAHA! Just messing :)

I start school back up on Thursday. First term was awesome and fast, let's pray the 2nd term is fast also! I have Anatomy & Physiology, Comp 1 and Survey of Mathmatics :) I dont know why I just smiled, but I can't help but be happy, other wise I would run and cry.

I really need to get back to the wind and grind on the weight loss issue. I was doing so good, and now I'm starting to feel it come back on. I really like the smaller jeans and I am determined to keep them. Biggest Loser work out here I come. Did I mention I love the show? I love it because its inspirational and o cause Alison Sweeney is on there! Huge fan!

My sister graduates on Saturday from the University of Iowa. I am so proud of her and excited for her to experience the reality of life. Were heading up Friday and staying overnight and then I'll come home Saturday night. I am so happy and proud of Amanda. Congratulations if you read this....<3 you!

We'll I will continue to update you gise on our life. It has become so eventful with me going to school and Max starting at daycare. (Which he LOVES!)
