Wow! What a LONG Time!

It's been sooo long since I had the idea or time to blog! Max just turnt 3 and is definitely growing up fast! We skipped the terrific twos and went straight to the terrible three's! More of that to come.... Over the last 2 years alot of things have happened.... here's an idea...

• We lost the best man I have ever known this past fall. My grandpa Clarence passed away 11.26.11 from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He hopefully went fast and peacefully. I know he's watching over us on a daily basis. I see signs everywhere. My grandma is holding up nicely but we all have our days! His birthday was 2 weeks ago on Thursday and it was soo hard. Max misses papa but understands papa lives in the "sky" and is a bright, bright, bright star in the sky! RIP Grandpa Clarence.

• I graduated from Kaplan University and became a Medical Assistant at Iowa Heart Center in West Des Moines. I was featured in a commercial with Kaplan and it aired recently! My 30 seconds to fame :) I became CMA certified in November 2011. I've been at Iowa Heart for over a year and I love it....

• Max turned 1, now 2 and now he's 3 :) He is definitely giving me a run for my money. I love him more than anything in this world, and he knows it!!! He is picking up so much at daycare. Some good, some bad. That comes with the age though I'm told.  Some of the highlights over the last few years.... In May '12 Max got his tonsils and adenoids out. Not only has this helped decrease his sicknesses but helped him with snoring! He has missed fewer days at daycare and I have definitely missed less work.

This coming spring i'm going to be taking a big step towards a beautiful/wonderful future. I am going to have gastric sleeve surgery. Everything is on track to be completed by February and submitted to insurance in February and as soon as I have an approval letter, I can schedule a date! I'm using Mercy Bariatric Surgery Center at the Healthy Living Center. The doctor that will be performing the surgery is definitely easy on the eyes (ha ha) and had great success w/ this sugery. I'm an emotional eater and dear lord its catching up to me.

My sister and her longtime boyfriend Matt got engaged this past February. They are planning on getting married in the fall of 2013. Unfortunately we aren't close and she has chosen not to make me a part of her wedding. While I feel stunned and hurt, I have decided that Max nor I will attend the event. Called me selfish, I really dont care. I have my own opinions and thoughts. Good luck to both of them.

Fall 2010, Thanksgiving, and Holiday Cheer!

We'll sorry I haven't updated lately, but life has been very hectic to say the least!

Fall has been good to us. We have made it through the season without any major illnesses or flare ups! Max had tubes put in at the beginning of the month (November) and things have been going great since. He hasn't had any ear infections or colds, so thank the lord! His winy temper-ment has disappeared too, as well :)

Halloween was fantastic! He was a tiger and he had a lot of fun handing out candy to the little kids in the neighborhood at my moms house. We didn't do the trick or treat thing this year, since the last thing he needs to eat is candy. We went to Kaplan's trick or treat and that was good enough for the both of us :)

 He is growing up so much everyday. The other day I looked at him and cried. It just seems like yesterday he was a baby and laying on the floor, unable to move....ohhhhh the days :) Actually, I am liking his stage now. He is curious, and inquisitive. I like seeing his face when he discovers new things. He never ceases to amaze me!

For thanksgiving, we celebrated at my moms house. Max came down with the flu bug Wednesday night, but acted fine on Thursday. He didn't eat a whole lot but had a good time otherwise. He definitely loved spending the day with his grandpa Clarence and grandma's. The boy does the happy dance everytime my grandpa comes around him. He adores him and grandpa adores Max....it's so neat.

We leave for South Padre on christmas, so we are trying to get things finished up as far as christmas shopping so we can start saving $$$!~ I did a few black friday deals, but mostly have looked for bargins before hand......

I am 90% done shopping!

Well I have to finish baking my cookies that I whipped up!

Hawkeyes Prevail, Big Brother, & Other Stuff!!!

Well, its the day after Iowa's Cy-Hawk show down, and the Hawkeyes prevail :) Goooo Hawkeyes!!!!

This is Max on game day! He loves wearing his jersey and Hawkeye tatto :)

We had an awesome day. We spent the day with my grandma and mom. Max had a bad ear ache so we did take him to get antibiotics for his ear. He was a bear all day, but beside that, we had a great day.... The hawks won 35-7....Go Hawks :) 2-0!!!

Big Brother finale this week....it is a sentimental feeling, because that means summer is over and the cold weather is here. I am ready for Halloween so I can see Max dressed up as a tiger, but besides that.... I just want to soak up summertime and great sleeping weather....

With Max being sick last night, I didnt have a chance to go out and hang out with my friends... I felt bad that I missed Charli's birthday, but my baby was sick and he needed his mommy. Today, thank god, he was feeling much better. I am ready to have my happy baby back :)

We'll tonight is the first Sunday Night Football in America game so I am going to sign off and watch the game.... favorite part is soon to come... come on Faith Hill :)

Tomorrow is the Day!

Tomorrow is so the day! 14 hours and 6 minutes from this moment will be the official kickoff to the Iowa Hawkeyes football season! I have waited SOO long for this day to come! Max has his Hawkeyes jersey ready to go! #12 whoot whoot! We are actually going to go get our pictures taken together! Can't wait to get him dressed up for the game tomorrow! He was dressed up accordingly last year, but only in onesies because they didn't make shirts smaller than a 2T... now we have surpassed that issue!

Can't wait to dress my lil' guy up! :)

School so far is going good. I am halfway done with my third term. This term has proven to be the most challenging for me. I have A&P 2, M.O.M. and Medical Law & Bioethics. Its the A&P 2 thats killing me.  The teacher is a good teacher, but apparently I dont know how to study properly. I study and study and do you think it helps? NO! I am so stressed out. I am going to enjoy this 3 day weekend and than hit the wind and grind. I start clinicals next term. God be with me and my partner who I have to learn to poke! Dear God, Dear God!

We'll I had so much to write, but distracted with laundry and other house work...gotta love being a mommy and a homemaker.... I wouldnt change my life for anything.

Almost 1, Crazyness and Break!

Max will be one years in less than 3 weeks!!! Hard to believe. We had his 1 year old pictures taken tonight! :) I have never seen any cuter pictures than his pictures tonight. Target in Ankeny did awesome! I spent alot of money on pictures! Hope everyone likes them! We have such big plans for his birthday, I can't wait!

Finals were last week and thank god there over for another 10 weeks :) I ace'd all my classes and I am excited! I made the deans list again !!!! WHOOO HOOOOO!!! That's all that I am worried about! Worried about proving my sister wrong and that I can go to college at 26 and be successful. HA! BOO YAH!

With finals being over, that means its break time for 2 weeks. The new term starts the 29th for me and I am hoping this break goes slow. I need to reload and refresh before next term. I have A&P 2 which will be the death of me I'm sure! BuT NO MORE MATH! WHOOOO!!! I feel I have some somewhat easy courses this next term. Let's see in 10 weeks :)

4th of July and a Much Needed Break!

Wow! This year has gone fast! This weekend is the 4th of July and it's so hard to believe its here already! I am excited to be celebrating it with Max, and my dad & step-mom. Max & I are heading to Omaha, on Saturday. I am so excited! It will be a great get away from school and work. Finals are coming up so I will be stressing here soon! 2 weeks from today, I will be done with finals and on a 2 weeks break! Whoot whoot! Not sure what I'm going to do with my break yet, but I'm super stoked!

Max started walking on Tuesday. I saw him out of the corner of my eye take a step and I thought I was crazy. Yesterday, while at my grandparents, he took 5 steps and then today, I caught him walking across the room out of the corner of my eye. I said yayyyy Max and he clapped and then fell and that was the end of that walking stint. :) He is so big. I mailed out his birthday invites this week and I am so excited and can't wait! Well I can, but I can't.

Got to spend some time with grandma and grandpa today. Grandma is slowly but surely getting better and its a process that will take time.

I am so watching the news and they are covering the floods of 2010. You would think they would learn from the past and build a fortress around the river and the city :) I went downtown today with the grandparents and we stopped to take pictures and there are so many pictures that can't even describe whats happening to the river.

We'll I am off to bed. Max is in the parade tomorrow morning! Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July weekend!

'Naters, Rude People, & Max

Wow, this weather has been horrific! If it doesn't stop raining, were going to need to build an arc....Gah! I am ready for it to be nice again...I am loving the heat though cause its awesome to be able to take Max to the pool and swim.... oh and having a car that has A/C and not being preggers :) Last summer waas hottttt!
Let's pray for warmer and sunny weather!

Rude people annoy me! I don't understand why people do the things they do sometimes...honestly! I set a timer each time I do our laundry and I set it for 35 mins. The washer takes 33 and the dryer 55 normally... I go to get my clothes out of the washer and dryer and my clothes are on the floor and somebody had JUST put there clothes in the washer and dryer! I was LIVID! So I ignored it, waited an hour or two and went back in there and it was empty so I finished my laundry. Come back and my clothes are ONCE again on the washer! SO, being the hot headed person I am, opened the dryer and left it open and opened the washer...they dont work unless the doors are closed! HA. Instead of knocking on every person's door on this floor, I just left it at that.... they must have heard me cussing them because they went right back in and restarted the dryer... not sure what good it did, but it made me feel satisfied... I will say that :)

I kept Max home today, to spend time with the squirt. We had a pretty good day! He takes awesome naps since he has been in daycare... which was nice for this mama! :) I was exhausted.... Got the laundry done and got the apartment cleaned. YAY! Then he woke up and ripped all his toys back out :) The joys of having a kid I guess :) He is growing up so fast, he is ready to walk anytime, I just hope he doesn't walk for the first time, while I'm in Omaha this weekend..... UGH! I would cry! I love watching him grow so much every single day.... just miss the cuddling!

My sister & I are heading to Omaha tomorrow! YAY! Roadtrip! Were going to spend fathers day with our dad.... Should be a good time. My mom is keeping Max so I can have a little get away :) Thank you mama! I appreciate it!
